Origins
Utah Broadband started with a simple frustration. In 2002, founder Steve McGhie looked around his Sandy neighborhood and couldn't find a single reliable internet option. Rather than wait for someone else to solve it, he built the solution himself, and Utah Broadband was born.
Growth
We're more than an internet provider. We're your neighbors — people who are invested in the communities we serve. We show up, we follow through, and we build relationships that last, because we know that when Utah is connected, Utah moves forward together.
Expansion
In 2020, UBB was acquired by Boston Omaha with one clear goal: bring fast, reliable fiber internet to the rural communities of northern Utah that need it most. That acquisition marked a new chapter, not an ending. The investment allowed UBB to push fiber deeper into northern Utah, connecting towns and neighborhoods that had long been overlooked by the big providers. The mission Steve started in 2002 is still very much alive: make sure no Utahn is left without the internet they deserve.
